How Societies Remember? was originally the name of a sociological book written by Paul Connerton; in which he argues that images and recollected knowledge of the past are conveyed and sustained by ritual performances, and that performative memory is bodily. This exhibition features 8 artists’ works that explore the relationship between art, body, and society. It makes a conspicuous show of the theory by showcasing artists’ participatory and performance artworks which reflects the political and societal issues.
